Refund Policy
Who runs Compass
Compass is operated by Compass Software (sole proprietorship, eenmanszaak), Sarphatipark 88-2, Amsterdam, the Netherlands. KVK 42084074. BTW NL005438006B23. Subscriptions are billed via Paddle.com Market Ltd. as Merchant of Record.
Free trial period
Compass offers a 14-day free trial with all new subscriptions.
No charge is made during the trial period. Your payment method is captured at sign-up for the purpose of automatically starting your paid subscription at trial end.
You may cancel your subscription at any time before the end of the trial period by visiting Me → Billing in the app. If you cancel before day 14, no charge will be made.
Post-trial cancellation
You may cancel your paid subscription at any time via Me → Billing.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period. You will retain full access to Compass until that date. No prorated refund is issued for unused time within your current paid period, except where required by applicable law.
Refund eligibility
Once a payment has been successfully charged after the trial period, Compass subscription fees are non-refundable, except in the following limited circumstances:
Technical failure preventing use. If a documented technical issue on our side prevented you from using Compass for a substantial portion of a paid period, contact hi@compassapp.money. Refunds in this case are issued at our discretion.
Duplicate or unauthorised charge. If you were charged twice for the same billing period, or if a charge was made without authorised access to your account, contact us. We will investigate and, if confirmed, issue a full refund of the affected charge.
Statutory rights under applicable consumer law. Certain jurisdictions grant consumers non-waivable refund rights, see the EU section below.
EU consumers, Distance Selling and Digital Content
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union or the European Economic Area, EU Directive 2011/83/EU grants you a 14-day withdrawal right for distance-purchased services.
Before you begin using Compass, you may withdraw from the subscription within 14 days of your subscription commencing and receive a full refund of any amount charged.
After you begin using Compass, by starting your 14-day free trial and actively using the service during the trial period, you expressly acknowledge that Compass has commenced supply of a digital service and you expressly waive your 14-day withdrawal right for services already supplied. This is required under Article 16(m) of the Consumer Rights Directive.
You retain the right to cancel your subscription at any time to prevent future charges.
Payment failures and grace period
If a scheduled payment fails, for example because your card expired or funds are insufficient, we attempt to charge again automatically for up to 3 days.
During this grace period, your access continues as normal.
If the payment cannot be collected after 3 days, your subscription is paused. Your account remains active with read-only access until payment resumes. You will receive email notifications at each stage.
Chargebacks
If you have a dispute with a Compass charge, please contact hi@compassapp.money before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card network.
Compass reserves the right to suspend or terminate the account of any user who initiates a chargeback without first attempting to resolve the dispute through support.
Price changes
Compass prices at the time of your subscription are the prices you pay for the current subscription cycle.
We may change prices for new subscribers at any time without notice.
We may change prices for existing subscribers with at least 30 days notice, delivered by email and in-app. Price changes apply to your next billing cycle. If you disagree with a price change, you may cancel before the change takes effect.
Account deletion and residual data
Cancelling your subscription and deleting your Compass account are separate actions.
Cancelling your subscription stops future charges. Your data remains in Compass until you delete your account. Deleting your account permanently removes your data per our Privacy Policy. No refund is issued for the unused portion of a paid period at time of account deletion, except where required by statutory rights.
How to request a refund
If you believe you qualify for a refund, email hi@compassapp.money from the email address associated with your Compass account.
Include the date of the charge, the amount, and the reason for your refund request. We will respond within 3 business days.
Approved refunds are processed via Paddle to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days.
